Warm up School Uniform
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Students revise sound [ai]. The twister is on the blackboard (or in the handouts): d Nile crocodiles have the wildest smiles.
Checking on homework
Students explains why they used "this / that" and "these / those" in each example.
Game "An Odd Word"
Teacher gives students the cards with the row of the words (one card to each student). The task is to read the words, find an odd word and explain why.
Introducing the topic
Teacher presents the vocabulary of the lesson (ex. 1, p. 32). Students describe each person's clothes as it is in the example and do ex. 2, p. 33.
Answers: 1 Sue; 2 Tom; 3 Mary; 4 Clark; 5 Jack; 6 Bob.
Students listen tq the text, and then read it. After reading they have to do the task: tick the statements A, B, or both (ex. 3, p. 33-34). Answers: 1 A, B; 2 В; З B; 4 A, B; 5 B; 6 A.
The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
Raise your hands, high in the air,
At your sides, on your hair.
Raise your hands as before
While you clap: one, two, three, four.
I put my hands upon my hips,
I turn myself around.
I raise my hands above my head
And then I touch the ground.
Teacher divides students into three groups. Teacher gives students some questions for discussion (ex. 4, p. 34), and students discuss them. Then each group expresses its opinion. Teacher sums up the results.
