Aims and objectives: to present "to be going to" structure; to practise vocabulary and pronunciation; to practise the use of "to be going to"; to develop students' speaking and reading skills.
Warm up Asking for Advice
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Students revise sounds [b] and [t]. The twister is on the blackboard (or in the handouts): d Betty bought some butter, but the butter Betty bought was bitter, so Betty bought some better butter.
Checking on homework
Teacher makes the display of students' works. Students one by one tells about their projects (not more than 5 sentences), others ask them the questions.
Game "We are going to ... "
Teacher gives students the cards with the task (situation), divides students into four groups. Each of the group gets the card and "dresses" one of the partners. Then students call the items of clothes and explain their choice.
Situations for cards 1. You are going to a birthday party. It's spring now. It's rather cold. It's raining at the moment. Dress yourself according to the occasion and take necessary items.
You are going to school. It is early autumn. The sun is shining. You have got the Physical Education lesson today. Dress yourself according to the occasion and take necessary items. You are going to a park with your friends. It is winter now. It is cold and snowy. Dress yourself according to the occasion. You are going to work in the garden, and then to go to the river. It is summer. You are in a village. Dress yourself according to the occasion.
Introducing the topic
Game cards contain some information on topic, that's why teacher draws students* attention to the first sentences of their cards ("You are going to..."). Students read this structure and try to explain what cases we can use it. (When we plan to do something.)
To help students' answer, the teacher gives the material from ex. 3, p. 36. Students divide into pairs, read the task and act short dialogues. To practise students do ex. 4, p. 36.

The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
Where are you going to, my little cat? I'm going to town to buy a hat. What? A hat for a cat? A cat in a hat? Who ever saw a cat in a hat?
Students listen to the dialogue and answer what way we can ask and give advice. Teacher pays students' attention to the difference in writing of "advice" (порада) and "advise" (радити) (p. 35).
Work In whole class. Guessing the riddles. Students read the riddles in iutn aloud (p. 35) and try to guess what the answer is. They give thtlr minds to answer.

Ex. 5. p. 37, p. 213 (grammar) to learn.
Summary and feedback
The teacher summarizes the work by asking for students' feedback.
