Warm up Styles of Clothes
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Students listen to the words, read them and try to t\ nd the odd word in each line. Students have to explain their choice. The lines are on the blackboard (or in the handouts):
a) done, love, move, son, much move
b) calm, star, fair, half, March fair
c) light, quite, type, pair, might pair
Checking on homework
Teacher asks of the meaning "to be going to" and the forms of it. Then students read and check the exercise.
Answers; 1 is; 2 are; 3 is/is/is; 4 are/are/ін; .'і ім/ія; 6 are/are.
For this dictation teacher gives the students the beginning of the sentences (situations). Their task is to continue and complete the sentences. After writing teacher picks the works up to check them out.
a) Clothes we wear at the parties is/are ...
b) Clothes we wear for a walk is/are ...
c) Clothes we wear to school is/are ...
d) Clothes we wear in the gym is /are ...
e) Clothes we wear in summer is/are ...
f) Clothes we wear to the theatre is/are ...
Introducing the topic
Teacher gives students two dialogues to listen, and then match the people (1-4) from the picture (ex. 2, p. 38) to the clothes (A-H) they are going to wear.
T і m. Hi, Mary! Do you remember we are going to a park?
Mary. Sure! What are you going to wear?
Tim. Jeans, a pullover, a jacket and a cap. And boots, of course.
Mary. Sounds hot!
T і m. Oh! It is frosty today, that's why dress warmly.
Mary. OK. I'll wear a coat and high boots.
Tim. Don't forget your fur-cap and gloves.
Mary. Oh, thanks. Put on a scarf. Meet you in a half an hour.
Andrew. Hi, Lucy! Lucy. Hello, Andy!
Andrew. What are you doing on Sunday? Lucy. I'm going to skateboard.
A n d r e w. Oh, I go in for skateboarding, too! Let's go together. Lucy. It's nice. What are you going to wear?
A n d r e w. A tracksuit, a T-shirt, a cap and trainers. Well, and you? L u с у. A T-shirt, too, then jeans — by the way — you'll see my new belt, and trainers.
Andrew. And a cap?
Lucy. Oh, no. I don't like caps. I prefer bandannas.
The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
Stand up, clap, clap. Arms up, clap, clap. Step, step, arms down. Clap, clap, please, sit down.
Work in pairs. Teacher gives students the dialogue (ex. 3, p. 38) to listen. Students listen to the dialogue, read it. Students divide into pairs and act their own dialogue (ex. 4, p. 38) to the class.

T. What clothes do Ukrainian children prefer? Do your parents allow you to wear clothes your want? Why do people use different styles in clothes? What do you think about fashion?
