Англ. язык 5 кл. Unit 2. Lesson 19. Dialogues
Aims and objectives: to practise students' speaking skills; to practise students' listening skills; to practise pronunciation and vocabulary; to develop general culture and etiquette of speech.

Warm up Dialogues
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Phonetic exercise
Students revise sound [ге]. The twister is on the blackboard (or in the handouts): d Fat Pat had a fat cat. о Pat's cat sat in Pat's hat.
Checking on homework
Students read the text one by one and check their answers.
Introducing the topic
The teacher presents lists of clothes and accessories and asks students first to divide the items into groups and then to list them. Students have to be able to explain their choice. Each student has different task (it may be some students with the same tasks): 
a winter clothes                             a  footwear
a sporty clothes                             a  summer clothes
a accessories                                 a  outerwear etc.
The teacher divides students into pairs. Students have to write 2-3 questions to ask their classmates and make a dialogue. It may be done with help of the examples (ex. 1, p. 43). Then pairs of students (selectively) read their dialogues.
Teacher gives students to listen and then to read the dialogues (there are four ones in ex. 2, p. 43-44). Students match the pictures and the dialogues and prepare to act them.
Teacher proposes Students to train their pronunciation and practise the words (ex. 3, p. 44-45). Students look at the pictures, listen and repeat the words, and then make sentences using the example.
The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
I measure from top of my head to my toes. I measure my arms starting here by nose. I measure my legs and I measure me all. I measure to see if I'm growing tail.
Work in whole class. Students (individually) think of the item of clothes and start to describe it in turn mentioning situation.
Other students have to guess what the item is. Students may use the example from ex. 6, p. 45, and teacher may give another examples:
a I wear it in summer. It's very comfortable. It's bright. It is made of nylon. It's good to sunbathes and to swim. (A swim suit)
d I like it very much because it's my friend's present. I carry it with me when I go to a party or to the theatre. It matches to my stylish clothes. It is quite small and stylish, too. It is made of leather. (Handbag)
Homework Dialogues
Ex. 7, p. 45, to repeat the unit vocabulary and grammar.
T. What is the difference between "fit" and "match"? What occasions we use these words in? Students' answers.
