Aims and objectives: to revise vocabulary; to revise Present Perfect; to develop students' intensive reading skills; to develop students' listening and speaking skills.
Warm up School Holidays
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Students revise homophones. Teacher gives the definitions of the homophones if it is necessary. The pairs of the words are on the blackboard (or in the handouts):
- mind/mined - by/buy /bye
- scent/sent - be/B/bee

Students in pairs presenUtheir dialogues.
Answers: 1 Have/have/do; 2 do; 3 Has/hasn't/Does.
Game "Finish the Story"
The teacher divides students into 3 or 4 groups. Then the teacher reads short stories to students. The task is to finish them. Students may discuss endings in groups. One correct answer is one score.
1. A lady says to a little girl "Is your mother's hair black?" "I don't know. She's so tall that..."
2. А farmer asks a boy "What are you doing in that apple-tree, my dear?" "Oh, sir! One of the apples fell down, and..."
3. "What do they say to little children when they have got a bad mark?" Asks father. "I don't know. Dad, because I haven't got..." Answers: 11 can't see her hair; 2 I'm trying to put it back; 3 children.
Introducing the topic
To present the topic the teacher gives students to listen to the word combinations (ex. 1, p. 90). Students listen and repeat them.
T. What do you usually do in different seasons of the year? Students look at the pictures and answer as it is in the example. The teacher divides students into pairs, and first, they answer the questions (ex. 2, p. 90), then ask their partners and add information.
The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
I am a tree in the wood. I swing in the wind. My hands are the leaves. They fall from the tree. How so fly they float From the top of the tree.
Students listen to the text and order the pictures. Then say what children found when they were at the seaside. The teacher can use the text like this or choose his/her own variant.
At the Seaside
L. Hi, girls! Let me introduce myself. I'm Lucy Hunter and I work at the TV New Channel. I'm a journalist, and I write an interview for our TV programme. Could you say what you did on the beach?
J. Dear Lucy, I'm Jane and this is my friend Kathy (A). There were a lot of children. Two boys found a big nice seashell (B). We have never seen shells like that! Kathy's elder brother Tim sunbathed not far from them (C). Our friends splashed in the water, and ran out of waves (D).
K. Oh, there were some guys. They played volleyball (E). And two little children built a sandcastle (F).
L. Thanks a lot! Bye, Jane! Bye, Kathy!
Students in turn read the "Ann's Letter" (ex. 4, p. 91) aloud. Then the students make the task of completing the sentences (ex. 5, p. 92).
Answers: 1 Yalta; 2 in a lovely hotel; 3 nice; 4 builds sandcastles, feeds the seagulls and collects shells and stones; 5 on excursions ... has bought some souvenirs; 6 all Jane's news.
Homework School Holidays
Ex. 6, 7, p. 92; to repeat the use of Present Perfect, Past Simple, the forms of irregular verbs.
Summary and feedback
The teacher summarizes the work by asking for students' feedback.
