Aims and objectives: to revise and practise vocabulary;- to develop students listening skills; to develop students' communicative skills; to develop cross-cultural competence.
Warm up The Same Holidays
The teacher's greeting. Good morning, students! I'm glad to see you. How are you?
Students revise homophones. First, students listen to the word pairs, the, they repeat them. The teacher gives the definitions of the homophones if it is necessary. The pairs of the words are on the blackboard (or in the handouts):
□ ['kaeral] carol — carrel
□ ['seta] cellar — seller
□ [sent] cent — scent — sent
□ ['serial] cereal — serial
Checking on homework
Students (selectively) read their works.
Introducing the topic
The teacher presents the topic of the lesson, and students read ex. 1, p. 179. First, they clear up the words definitions (words from the box). The have to explain what is the same of these words and call their part of speech (All of them are prepositions).
Students read the text "Easter Baskets" and fill in the gaps with the prepositions. Then, check their answers.
Answers: 1 on; 2 before; 3 out; 4 on; 5 out; 6 of; 7 in; 8 of; 9 into; 10 until; 11 to.
The teacher divides students into three groups and gives one situa-' tion to each of them (ex. 2, p. 179). Students task is to write some questions to the situations to get more information, and to revise types of interrogative questions.
Students do ex. 3, p. 179 and put the verbs in brackets into the Past Simple Tense. Students have to find one "odd" sentence and mark it out. They say what the Tense is used in this sentence (Present Perfect) and why they think so. Then, they have to explain why the verbs in other sentences belong to Past Simple (words: last, yesterday, ago). The teacher has to remember about forms of regular and irregular verbs. Then, students check their answers (write the words on the blackboard).

The teacher makes movements with the students. Teacher uses any rhyme for physical exercises. For example:
I can jump. I can run.
I can sing. I can dance.
I can swim. I can't fly.
I can climb and say good bye.
Work in class. Students read the task and example to ex. 4, p. 180. They think of the holiday they have celebrated this year and talk about as in the example.

Ex. 5, p. 180.
Answers: 1. bed; 2 outside; 3 beautiful; 4 breakfast; 5 school; 6 teacher; 7 surprise; 8 sad; 9 work; 10 today; 11 calendar; 12 Holidays.

The teacher summarizes the work by asking for students' feedback.
